Wat Veerachote Thammaram

History

Formerly known as "Thong Thammachote Monastery", Wat Veerachote Thammaram is located in Khlong Luang Pang Subdistrict, Mueang Chachoengsao District, Chachoengsao Province. Its area of 36 rai provides peaceful atmosphere, which is surrounded by rice fields. Inside the temple, a big Luang Por Sothon, Phra Rachaprommayan glass hall containing a replica of Luang Phu Lersi Lingdam’s corpse, and Rachaprommayanusorn glass chapel on water is decorated with mirror with traditional Thai motifs and yantra. On the top, relics and Luang Phu Lersi Lingdam’s hairs along with the presiding Somdej Ong Pathom and 5 Buddha images; Luang Por Sothon, Luang Pho Toh Wat Bang Phli, Luang Por Wat Rai King, Luang Por Wat Ban Laem, and Luang Por Wat Khao Ta Krao are enshrined. This temple offers meditation teaching on a regular basis. For prosperity, people walk 3 circles through a passage under the presiding Buddha statue, Somdej Ong Pathom is enshrined in the glass chapel over the water.
